‘We Care For Your Fourth Trimester’ Programme

Women’s health

In contrast to other mammals, in which gestation takes much longer than nine months and the newborn is completely independent, human babies must be born earlier in order to pass through the mother’s birth canal.

Exterogestation, where the baby continues to be totally dependent on its mother outside the uterus, together with the multiple physical/biological and psycho-affective changes women undergo during puerperium, mean that this stage requires at least the same level of care—and possibly even more—as during pregnancy.

Multidisciplinary care of the woman and her recent motherhood in this fourth trimester or semester will therefore depend on her state of health and well-being: nurturing, self-image, genital well-being, pelvic floor, resumption of life as a couple, rest, nutrition and physical exercise are just some of the health areas we will take care of in order to achieve quality of life and ensure a good memory of this vital moment.

Programme led by a gynaecologist specialising in sexual counselling and genital regenerative medicine.
