Gynaecology

The Olympia Gynaecology Service, directed by Gema García Gálvez, was created with the vocation and commitment to promote integral health in women from a specialised and multidisciplinary perspective. Its philosophy is based on a close relationship with patients with a view to providing clear and easy-to-understand answers to diagnoses, as well as effective personalised treatment for each patient. The Olympia team has been trained to diagnose and treat any type of gynaecological pathology across all stages of a woman’s life.

Featured treatments

Gynaecological Check-up

This involves a periodic assessment of a woman’s reproductive health. It includes a complete medical history, physical examination and laboratory tests. It is recommended as part of preventive care and to detect possible problems at an early stage.

Treatment of uterine myomas

(uterine fibroids)

These are non-cancerous tumours that develop in the uterus wall. They are common during a woman’s childbearing years and often cause no symptoms. However, in some cases, they can cause pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding and reproductive problems.

Treatment of ovarian cysts

Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that form in the ovaries. Most are benign and go away on their own. However, some cysts can cause pain, especially if they rupture. The gynaecological examination may include ultrasound to detect and evaluate these cysts.

Treatment of infectious diseases

These can include genital tract infections, such as bacterial vaginosis or candidiasis, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea. A gynaecological check-up involves testing for these infections and establishing suitable treatment.

Treatment of menstrual bleeding disorders

These may include irregular menstrual periods, heavy bleeding (menorrhagia), missed periods (amenorrhoea) or bleeding between periods (spotting). These disorders can be caused by a variety of conditions, such as hormonal imbalances, fibroids or clotting disorders and so on.
